UK funk and soul DJ Craig Charles has just released his latest compilation album. Craig hosts a weekly show on BBC 6Music – “The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show”. The show covers the full spectrum of funk and soul music from well know classics to the modern day sounds of the contemporary funk and soul scene.

This 3 CD set follows in the same format as the radio show. There’s no surprises. So don’t expect any rare or previously unheard tracks. CD’s 1 & 2 are classic funk and soul and feature artists such as Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, James Brown, Little Richard and the classic northern soul gem “Do I Love You Indeed I Do” by Frank Wilson. CD 3 showcases some of the best of the modern day funk and soul scene with artists such as Quantic, Alice Russell, Leon Bridges, Cookin’ on 3 Burners and The Bamboos to name a few.
