Freestyle Records to re-release This Girl [Cookin’ on 3 Burners]

Back in 2009 Freestyle Records released This Girl by Cookin on 3 Burners. Taken from the album Soul Messin’ the 45 features Australia’s finest soul singer, Kylie Auldist.
This Girl went on to become one of the most sought after modern day soul records and was a firm favourite with fans of Deep Funk and Northern soul. Freestyle Records sold out of all 3 pressings of the 45. DJs and music fans across the world starting paying crazy prices for copies of this hard to find record. This led to yet another pressing of the 45 in 2013.
Fast forward to 2016 and DJ/Remixer Kungs has remixed This Girl to massive success, it’s been number 1 in France, currently sitting at number 10 in the UK charts and number 27 in Australia.
I’m still a huge fan of the original and it’s been a constant feature in my DJ sets since its release. On June 10th Freestyle Records are releasing a special digital only edition featuring the original with the previously unreleased instrumental and acapella versions. Get your copy here.
