We are very excited to welcome Dan Austin to our Guest DJ series.
Detroit-based Dan is one of our favourite DJ’s and this much anticipated mix doesn’t disappoint. Expect no less than 28 Northern Soul and R&B stompers in a row. This mix is squarely aimed at the dancefloor and all spun on original vinyl of course!
Dan Austin launched the Motor City Soul Club (MCSC) in 2014. Its goal is to share rare and lesser-known soul records with metro Detroiters and the world, through its Mixcloud page.
The idea is to help people fall in love with artists and songs they may have never heard of.
Once a month, MCSC throws a free dance party called the Soul Stomp at Detroit’s Marble Bar. The live sets are recorded and posted on Mixcloud.
Austin has been collecting soul and funk records for about 10 years and spinning them at bars across Detroit since about 2010.
