“Never Did Look Like Love” is the long-awaited debut solo single from former New Street Adventure frontman, Nick Corbin.
Like many we were saddened when Nick announced that NSA were disbanding at the beginning of last year. But after four years and two albums on the legendary Acid Jazz label it seems the band came to a natural conclusion.
Nick has been working hard over the past year, playing solo support gigs for The Milk, Stone Foundation, Corduroy and The Spitfires as well as opening for Mavis Staples at London’s iconic Union Chapel and for Tom Odell at three Pub in the Park festivals. Already an accomplished song writer, Nick’s been refining his skills while penning and laying down tracks for his forthcoming debut solo album, due out in 2020.
“Never Did Look Like Love” was produced by Gavin Monaghan and Joe Murray (Editors, The Twang, Paolo Nutini, Ocean Colour Scene, Robert Plant). With a list like that you know it’s gotta be good!
Nick’s music retains those Soulful influences he’s so well known for thanks in part to his dad an avid record collector and obsessive soul music fan. His voice is unique and unmistakable, and with a love of telling a story through his music, Nick is set for big things. This track is both uplifting and melancholic at the same time, with a catchy melody, you will find yourself humming it for days.
Due for release on 10th September 2019. Available on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Music.
