Pete MitchellRadio presenter Pete Mitchell died at the age of 61 on Thursday 12th March 2020.

Pete was one of the finest and most knowledgeable DJ’s and interviewers to have ever graced our airwaves.

Pete’s career spanned 34 years, he hosted shows on XFM, Virgin Radio, Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music. He was one half of the radio duo Geoff and Pete. Who together won numerous accolades and awards. But it was his work in recent years that we were most fond of. His radio show, Pete Mitchell’s Soul Time became a must listen. Focusing on the classic sounds of the sixties and seventies, Pete interviewed many of the greats from the era on Soul Time. Originally broadcast on Absolute Radio 60’s and then later broadcasting on Totally Wired Radio and The Face Radio.

Pete was a huge influence and inspiration to us here at MFML. A true music lover and exceptional broadcaster. Make sure you head into the archives and check out some of Pete’s most classic shows.
