Randa and The Soul Kingdom have been nominated in this years West Australian Music Song Of The Year. The six-piece Soul/Funk outfit from Perth have been nominated in the category of Global for their song ‘Standing Strong‘.
The as yet unreleased song is taken from their forthcoming third album of the same name. The album is due out in late July. This is what Randa Khamis, lead singer had to say about ‘Standing Strong’.
It’s a song about female empowerment. It’s about standing up against being sexually objectified and being ahead of the game, valuing your sexual appeal and knowing what it’s worth so that you don’t just give it away – Randa Khamis
