Lance Ferguson, the man behind Australia’s finest contemporray soul and funk band The Bamboos, releases the third and final single from his new LP “Rare Groove Spectrum – Volume 2“.

Volume 2 in the series picks up where the first instalment left off. The idea, to create, re-imagined versions of classic and rare, jazz-funk, balearic and latin tracks. Giving them a modern spin, while staying true to the essence of the originals.

The New Zealand born but Melbourne-based guitarist is joined by a stellar lineup of local musicians, including members of The Bamboos and Menagerie.

For this single, Lance tackles an absolute classic. None other than “Summer Madness” by Kool and The Gang. This laidback instrumental and yes you might even say balearic version is all groove. It’s certainly not a carbon copy of the original, retaining that laidback, poolside vibe and the synth solo in the middle of the track is truly inspired.

“Summer Madness” is released on Freestyle Records on 21st January 2022.

“Rare Groove Spectrum – Volume 2” is released on 28th January 2022.
