After being signed to UK label Jalapeno Records back in early 2021. Sam Redmore has been releasing some pretty heavy weight singles on the label.
For years now, Sam has been plying his trade producing remixes and edits of classic and under the radar tracks. Originally purposely designed for his DJ sets, his given the Redmore treatment to the likes of Bob Marley, Q-Tip, Masters At Work, Donna Summer and Stevie Wonder, to name just a few.
On the back of his remix work and a growing following that include tastemakers such as Craig Charles, Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Rob Da Bank, Huey Morgan, Don Letts, Lauren Laverne and Danny Krivit he was signed to Jalapeno Records. A flurry of singles has followed which has seen Sam graduate from not only remixing tracks but working with musicians, vocalists and rappers.
Just Be Good To Me is a cover of the classic SOS Band tune that was also covered by Beats International with their worldwide hit Dub Be Good To Me back in 1990. Sam’s version featuring Andrea Brown on vocals, takes the electro/boogie vibe of the original and gives it a Cumbia twist.
Available digitally now via bandcamp and as a 7″ Vinyl along with a remix of Tears by Giorgio Moroder.
Sam’s debut album is slated for release on Jalapeno Records in June 2022. In the meantime why not check out the Guest Mix he did for us back in 2016.
