The second single to be taken from The Bamboos forthcoming album This Is How You Do It is called Safe From Harm. Featuring Reginald AK on vocals, who just happens to be the son of The Bamboos long-time singer Kylie Auldist, and he’s certainly a chip off the old block.

Safe From Harm is quite a departure from the signature funk and soul laden sound that The Bamboos have become known for during their illustrious 20+ year career. It’s not the first time they have strayed from that heavy funk and soul sound they have become so well known for. Safe From Harm follows on in the same vein as Midlife Glow, released earlier in the year, which had a neosoul/souful hip hop sound.

Safe From Harm is almost the opposite to that signature Bamboos sound. Leading in with a slow tempo and a groovy bassline coupled with simple keys that keep the song moving along. Reginald has an impeccible voice, soulful and with a tone that is silky smooth. Band leader, Lance Ferguson even breaks into a bluesy guitar solo towards the end of the track.

This is neo-soul at it’s very best, hoping to hear more from vocalist Reginald AK in the near future and of course the rest of The Bamboos album This Is How You Do It due for release on 3rd November.
