We’ve been waiting a long time for the new 45 from The Traffic (Choi Records) to hit the racks. It’s finally almost here and we are extremely excited to bring you the premier.
Over the last three years The Traffic have released a flurry of in demand instrumental funk 45’s. Including cover versions of Jimi Hendrix – Fire, Skrillex – Bangarang, Grandmaster Flash – White Lines, The Prodigy – Smack My Pitch Up and most recently Rick James – Superfreak.
All these records sold out in super quick time, resulting in up to 4 repressings of the vinyl to keep up with the demand from DJ’s around the world.
The man behind Choi Records is none other than Ivan Khatchoyan. Ivan is the drummer with bands such as Cookin on 3 Burners and Mayfield and with players in the band such as Yuri Pavlinov (The Bamboos) you know that it’s gonna be good!
The new 45 features “California Love” on the A Side. A cover of the west coast hip-hop classic by Tupac and Dr. Dre and on the flip side The Traffic bring us their debut original composition “No Through Road”.
The pick of the two tracks for us is “No Through Road”. It’s all about the horns in this tune, so so good. Definitely a tune to get your feet moving!
Listen to “California Love” and “No Through Road” via the player below.
Due for release on 21 July 2018, you can preorder your copy of The Traffic – California Love / No Through Road via bandcamp now.
