Calling Out Today is the third single to be released from The Everettes forthcoming album Soul Steps.
The nine piece Berlin-based outfit are influenced by Motown Girl Groups, Sixties Soul and Northern Soul. The previous two singles to be taken from the album, Soul Thing and Number Nine were much very much targeted at the dancefloor. Showing off those northern soul influences.
Calling Out Today, is a catchy mid-tempo soul groover. Even though the song is about fighting your inner demons with both humility and self kindness. It has a very upbeat and summery sound. The majestic vocals from Katharina Dommisch coupled with horns and lush strings will ensure you’re humming this one for days.
