Introducing Last Bastion Records

Last Bastion RecordsLast Bastion Records is the brain child of Andy Belwood. Back in 1978 Andy started up ‘The Last Bastion’ a club night held at The White Hart pub in London’s Acton. Turning the quietest night of the week (Wednesday) into the busiest.

Fast forward 43 years and Andy has setup a record label sharing the same name and the same ethos ‘Making Music Matter’. The aim of Last Bastion Records is to make recordings available for the first time on limited edition vinyl 45. Each release is strictly limited to 300 copies and no repress.

The first release on the label was the 2004 recording of Lou Pride’s – I’m comun’ home in the morn’un’. The second release comes from the legendry Steve Marriott with two previously unreleased recordings of Lonely No More and Some Kind of Wonderful. Finally the third and final release for 2022 features Con Funk Shun with their Cajun Soul take of Move On Up by Curtis Mayfield and the flip is Jay Cee with I’ve Been Thinking.

Of course that first release is completley sold out now. But we are relaibly informed that there are still very limited copies available of the Steve Marriott and Con Funk Shun/Jay Cee 45’s available. Check out the clips below of both 45’s.
